![]() ![]() Sorry for the long post, I'm just wondering if anyone else is familiar with the Armstron Model 305B LTD. The person I talked to at the factory knew nothing of the LTD version, which I find rather curious. Although the instrument showed up in Conn-Selmer's database as a model 305B, this instrument seems to have all the features of a 305B except the barrel is engraved "LDT" and the flute has a gold-plated lip plate and crown. If there is no prefix then it could have been made in 1988. The serial number on the 2nd valve is a serial number. The 1 and the 3 simply indicate those are the first and third valves. But, If you bought the Horn new in 2002, it could be a 2002 Horn. Shires, Greenhoe, Conn, King, Bach, Holton, and many more. Conn has been very quiet about the recent serial numbers, I dont really know why. I've never seen, or heard mention of, a 305B LTD before. Sometimes the serial number will be on both the handslide and the. This horn is terrific-in addition to its great look and vintage vibe, it is ready to play, with very good pads and springs, and great action. The K prefix on the serial number dates it to 1967. Can someone tell me anything about a Conn sax serial number 8716. Up for auction this week is my super cool vintage Conn 12 M Baritone sax. I purchased it from a dealer, supposedly new, in December of 2005. I have an Armstrong 305B LTD, the serial number is 7116937. From 1987 onwards, the two-digit prefix number plus 50 will give you the year of manufacture on all Conn Saxophones and products.
